Continued from our last white square post….
⠀⠀
Our unhealed self desires healing above all else. However, it operates subconsciously (till we know how to notice).
⠀⠀
God created us so intricately, it’s amazing! Our bodies send our brain signals to get us to notice and respond. Like when we feel pain. For example, it hurts when you touch a hot stove – God’s built in failsafe so you don’t melt your hand off!
⠀⠀
In the same way, our bodies are designed to bring our unhealed wounds to the surface so we can experience healing. But this only happens in close relationships where we feel safe enough for our wounds to potentially be healed.
⠀⠀
The problem is that most of us don’t know that’s what’s happening during conflict and what to do when it is!
⠀⠀
Have you noticed that it’s only in your closest relationships that the most “drama” happens? This is your subconscious saying “it’s safe here, let those wounds fly! Maybe now you’ll experience healing!” ⠀⠀
Anyone ever experienced this? Is your spouse the person who’s seen the ugliest side(s) of you? Comment below!
